Being an illustrator I always seemed to have my camera on other people documenting their story. I promised myself I would document all my future events… no matter how small. When we leave, these images are the memories of our history. My grandfather wouldn’t go anywhere without his camera and what we have now is a family history documented in pics. I just want the same for mine.

Amsterdam

I been going to Amsterdam since 2005 and in my travels I’ve built bridges that have changed my life. Visually and sonically Amsterdam is my muse and our relationship grows with every visit.

Artomatic Gallery Showing

The “illustrator” exhibit is featured in this year’s Artomatic (www.Artomatic.org). Illustrator is a year in the life of Heron Gibran, a year full of growth and transition. I started my own business, quit my job, and decided to pursue my art. The emptiness that grew due to my lack of creation could not be filled by my paycheck. So I was closing a chapter to open a new one.

Ballou Mural 

The Ballou Knights protect the kingdom of South East. Ballou high school is the castle. The Anacostia River is the moat that surrounds and protects South East.

I’m so proud of their progress. The students of Ballou were a joy to work with.

Beatdown Film

Written and directed by Langston Sessoms and Roger Flores

I worked my way from "Boom-Guy", to Graphic Designer, and landed a role in the film. I wrote my character about 10 more lines and tried my best to steal the scene. My scene was filmed at A-1 records in Manhattan if your there tell them Heron sent you.
